Pull Tester

Usually tensile strength of materials or components are measured with universal testing machines (UTM), which acquire force and elongation as measuring data. The standards (EN IEC 60532-2; SAE/USCAR-21 or VW-60330) to determine pull out force of terminal and wire connections do not specify to capture the elongation. Therefore it is possible to use (motorized) benchtop pulltesters to measure the tensile strength of crimped connections as well as welded wire-to-wire connections. For more comprehensive information go to wiki page pull tester.

Manual pulltester are suitable to only a limited extent for standardized testing as the operator is hardly able to keep a constant pull-speed with increasing force. Therefore manual testers are recommended for quick and easy check of tensile strength only. For more comprehensive testing and type approval, motorized wire terminal testers should be applied.

We are the only manufacturer of pulltesters offering DAkkS accredited calibration certificate. On our K-BNME up to 5kN, we calibrate wire terminal testers in horizontal position according to validated procedures within the scope of our accreditation according to DIN ISO 17025:2005.
